JEE Main is a national level engineering entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Until 2018, JEE Main was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). From 2019, NTA has taken over the responsibility of conducting the exam.

JEE Main is conducted for engineering aspirants seeking admission to B.E./B.Tech courses in the National Institute of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs), various Central Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) and some other institutes. JEE Main is also the qualifying exam to appear for JEE Advanced, for admission to the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IITs).

JEE Main is based on the NCERT curriculum i.e. the CBSE syllabus of Class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. With lakhs of candidates appearing for the exam every year, making it one of the most competitive exams in India.
